Today I am preparing healthy dal by adding amaranthus in mixed dal. Among dal I am taking bengal grams (chana dal) green grams (mung dal) and red lentils (masur dal) .
Amaranthus is also known as rajgira in hindi and in assamese it is known as morisa (মৰিচা). It's a store house of phytonutrients and anti-oxidants, it's provides low calorie and fat and also rich in fibre so it's good for weight loss. It's also good for iron deficiency anaemia, it's a good source of vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin A , vitamin B. It's also rich in protein and calcium. It's leaves also have lysine.
I have boiled all the dals along with the amaranthus leaves upto 5 whistle of pressure cooker and finally added the tarka of tomato. Regarding spices I have used dhaniya powder, jira powder, garam masala powder, salt and haldi powder. So friends please try this recipe and let me know your outcome.
